Matthew Upson's future at Stoke City remains clouded.

The Sentinel says Upson is contracted to the club until 2013, but attracted interest from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua during the January transfer window.

A deal fell through because Stoke wanted a fee and Pulis didn't want to lose a potentially key player, but it could be resurrected in the future.
