Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hasn't been shy in heaping praise on wantaway Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara in the past.

BILD says Thiago, 29, has instructed his agents see if Liverpool are interested in his signature as Klopp looks to strengthen even further.

Back in February 2019 Bayern held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Anfield and Klopp was full of praise for the German side and Thiago in particular, reports the Daily Express.

Klopp said: “I've probably never seen them defend like that.

“Respect to them as they made it difficult for us, although we had good situations where we missed the last touch.

“Thiago is a world-class footballer. He played that deep-lying playmaker role very well. Alongside [Javi] Martinez, they were very good."

Back in 2017, Klopp was quizzed on his favourite Spanish players and again name-dropped Thiago.

He replied: “In my time in Germany, I admired Thiago Alcantara, for example."
