Gareth Barry's future at Aston Villa could be decided well before the summer market shuts.
Under UEFA rules, Barry would not be able to play Champions League football later in the season if his transfer to Liverpool drags on and he is selected by Villa to play in the UEFA Cup qualifying matches on August 14 and 28.
