Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale is keen to play on for Italy under new coach Cesare Prandelli.
Di Natale was asked if his 10 goals in 36 appearances for Italy was the end of an era for him.
"Absolutely not," he told the club's website. "Playing for the national team is everybody's dream. If Prandelli were to call me up I would respond with enthusiasm.
"I am happy in Udine. The Coach has made a big impression on me. He puts everyone on the same level. I see the right desire and the right spirit in my team-mates' eyes.
"The team is young. Pepe and D'Agostino are no longer here, but new and very interesting players have arrived.
"The club knows what it is doing. Candreva will surprise you. He only needs to find the confidence in his own means."
