Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin refused to be down after their thrashing by Fiorentina.
The Friulani have fallen behind the Champions League race after four defeats in the last five rounds, including today's 5-2 demolition in Florence.
"My lads gave everything, they played with heart, courage and determination," Guidolin told RAI.
"We praise Fiorentina for doing better today and they deserved to win. Between tonight and tomorrow Roma and Lazio will probably pick up points, get closer or further away, but we will not give in.
"After all, next week we have the head-to-head battle with Lazio and after that, anything can happen.
"Udinese must reach their target of qualifying for Europe, even if we are not playing with the same sharpness we had a few weeks ago."
