Michael Turner is happy to go through the wars for Norwich City.

The £4million summer signing from Sunderland has collected a black eye, a bandaged head and a shoulder injury already this season.

Turner, who stood firm again at Reading, said: "I've been in the wars. But you just get on with it and stitch things up all the time. It's what being a defender's all about - looking like me!

"We play Manchester United next week and I'll be putting my head in where it hurts again."
