Hull City have opened discussions with highly-rated defender Michael Turner over a new contract extension. "I'm not jumping the gun on a deal but we are sitting down with Turner's agent. Talks are at an advanced stage and we're hopeful of a deal," Tigers boss Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I know that people will be interested in the money we're offering him but that's something we aren't going to disclose.

"The only thing Hull City fans will be interested in is the length of his stay, which will be increased by another year so will keep him at the club until 2012."
