Turkey coach Lucescu excited seeing Calhanoglu at AC Milan

Turkey coach Mircea Lucescu is delighted seeing Hakan Calhanoglu at AC Milan.

The midfielder moved this summer from Bayer Leverkusen.

"Milanello? I'm here to meet Hakan, he's considered to be one of the best Turkish talents," the ex-Inter Coach told MilanNews.it.

“After that, I'll go to Barcelona to talk to Arda Turan and then Germany to talk to others.

“It's important to get to know them before the start of our preparation for the game against Ukraine.

“I thank Vincenzo Montella for the opportunity because when I called him, he immediately made [Hakan] available.

“I also wanted to find out how the lad behaved from him, and he spoke very well [of Hakan's behaviour].

“First impressions? He's made me an excellent impression on me, he's a clever player who wants to bring his club back to the top and I'm sure he will.

“He started learning Italian immediately and this means he wants to integrate into the group right away.

“That aside, his technical and athletic qualities are the most important thing.

“Can he be an important player in Milan's history? Why not? He's a talented player.

“From my time coaching Turkish teams, I realised that Turkish players are very good players in terms of sacrifice.

“Can he be Milan's No 10? We hope he'll become the player that everyone's hoping he becomes.

“He feels like a No 10 in his skin and I'm certain he knows how to play the role very well."
