Trio of Costa Ricans on trial at Celtic

Scottish champions Celtic have taken three young Costa Rican players on trial.

The trio were part of the Hoops development squad for the match with Kilmarnock on Tuesday and have been able to train with the Glasgow giants as part of an initiative with Uruguay de Coronado who are managed by former Derby County, Manchester City and West Ham United striker Paulo Wanchope.

Forward Alvaro Astua, midfielder Andres Montalvan and defender Yeikel Medina are all with Celtic for a 10-day spell with Astua hoping the club is impressed.

"Hopefully they will be interested," he told press in Costa Rica.

"It would be a dream come true to go and play in Europe."
