TRIBAL TRENDS – TRANSFERS: Liverpool's Aubameyang offer?; Dembele celebrates Man Utd transfer?; Mbappe drops Arsenal hint?;

With the amount of rumours swirling around at this time of year, even after the winter transfer window, it is sometimes difficult to decipher the truth.

These are matters of importance.

As the transfer talk is now directed at the all-important summer market, there are enormous amounts of speculation swirling around Europe and the UK.

Not to worry however, because here at Tribalfootball, we have broken down the week's hottest transfer rumours, and inform you whether you should believe the paper talk or not.

Here are our top five trending transfer stories for the past week:

Pierre-Emerick AubameyangBorussia Dortmund

Clubs Interested: Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea

Liverpool have reportedly offered Borussia Dortmund 70m euros for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to Le Parisien, the Gabon international is keen to reunite with former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

It would undoubtedly be a huge coup for the Reds. The 28-year old has been a goal scoring machine for the Bundesliga club, scoring an incredible 31 goals in 32 league games last season.

However, The Times reports that Klopp and Aubameyang actually had a fractured relationship during their two seasons together.

If this is true, and the relationship between the pair isn't so good, then Reds supporters can kiss their dream goodbye.

Likelihood: It was too good to be true.

Ousmane DembeleBorussia Dortmund

Clubs interested: Manchester United, Barcelona

Ousmane Dembele's social media activity has given Manchester United fans a glimmer of hope that he will join the club this summer.

Dembele, who had a stellar debut season with Borussia Dortmund this year, is being heavily pursued by Barcelona.

All signs have been pointing to a move to Catalonia. The Blaugrana finished second to Real Madrid last season and fans are calling for a big signing.

But The Mirror claims that Dembele could be hinting where he'd really like to end up after he 'liked' two separate posts on Twitter that celebrated the arrival of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford.

Yes, United need a striker but the weight of a 'like' is not significant enough to mean this deal will become reality.

Likelihood: Not going to happen

Kylian Mbappe Monaco

Clubs Interested: Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid

Social media once again played a part in garnering speculation around a transfer.

This time, it involves Monaco wonder kid Kylian Mbappe.

According to The Sun, the Frenchman sent Arsenal fans into hysterics over the weekend after he liked pictures that were posted by three Arsenal players.

First there was Alexis Sanchez, then Mesut Ozil, and finally, his compatriot, Jeff Reine-Adelaide.

It would be inaccurate to say that there is not any interest from Mbappe and his family to join the Gunners.

Arsene Wenger almost signed the 18-year old for a pittance last summer, and his meeting with Mbappe's family was extremely positive.

So much so that Mbappe's relatives were quoted by La Parisien as saying the striker would love to join Arsenal and flourish under Wenger's management, like his compatriots Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka.

The only problem with this link is the transfer fee.

As much as Arsenal are prepared to invest in their squad this year after their disastrous 16/17 campaign, 100m euros is way over their budget.

Likelihood: Money is the issue

Antonio Conte Chelsea

Players Interested In: Romelu Lukaku (Everton), Tiemoue Bakayoko (Monaco), Willy Caballero (Manchester City), Virgil van Dijk (Southampton), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Dries Mertens (Chelsea)

The London Evening Standardclaims that Antonio Conte has put forward a list of six names to the Chelsea hierarchy to kick-start their transfer window.

Romelu Lukaku, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willy Caballero, Virgil van Dijk, Leonardo Bonucci, Dries Mertens.

There are no real surprises there; they're all names that have been linked with the Blues before – except for Dries Mertens.

So what's going on at Chelsea? Should fans be worried about their inactivity?

Of course it's slightly alarmingly that the majority of their Premier League rivals have secured at least one signing, but there is still plenty of time till the deadline.

Blues fans should be more concerned about the Diego Costa saga dragging on.

Once they cut that issue is resolved, their transfer market will look at lot more prosperous.

Likelihood: Patience

Anderson TaliscaBenfica

Clubs Interested: Manchester United

According to AMK, Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca has agreed personal terms with Manchester United.

The Brazilian – who is currently in the middle of a two-year loan spell with Besiktas – has agreed a deal in principle to move to Old Trafford next season.

However, the report does not state that the two clubs have come to an agreement over the transfer fee.

It is believed the Portuguese giants want £22m.

The 23-year old helped Besiktas to the Turkish Super-Lig title, scoring 13 goals from 22 outings.

For an attacking midfielder to be dangerous in front of goals is luxury and something United really struggled with last season.

If Jose Mourinho can get Talisca at that price, in today's market, it would be bargain.

Likelihood: Big possibility
