Tranmere boss Les Parry believes Manchester United starlet Scott Wootton will prove a success during his loan spell at Prenton Park. The 19-year-old Wirral-born defender last week joined Rovers on a month's loan from United and made his debut during Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Brighton.
Parry said: "Scott is a local lad. He was with our school of excellence set-up as a youngster and went to the Academy at Liverpool before he joined United.
"I saw him last season when he first got into the reserves at United. He's tall and strong. He's a centre-back who can also play right-back and centre midfield, and that versatility is valuable."
