Roma skipper Francesco Totti says he has no problems with Vinicio Fioranelli, despite disparaging remarks from his lawyer last week. Totti said: "I will stay with Roma for another five years, until 2014. Perhaps some people won't like that idea
"It is a shame that such an important lawyer said such things about me. I don't know what he was trying to achieve, but I accept them and am happy to hear the responses of President Rosella Sensi, the Mayor and other important figures.
"I also thank Fioranelli for his show of solidarity."
Fioranelli bitterly criticised lawyer Nicola Irti for making the statements and assured Totti was "more important than Roma itself."
The controversy will have badly damaged Fioranelli's takeover bid for the club, as fans have now turned against him.
"(Rosella) Sensi is and will be the President of Roma. I am proud to have her leading this club," continued Totti.
"As far as I know, nobody made a truly realistic offer, so there's no point talking about it. If it should arrive, then she might be prepared to sell."
