Tottenham's Keane confident of success under Ramos

Tottenham striker Robbie Keane believes he can fulfil his footballing ambitions under Juande Ramos.

Former Sevilla manager Ramos, who took charge at White Hart Lane after the departure of Martin Jol in October, led Spurs to Carling Cup glory last week.Premier League next season.

Keane, a substitute in Saturday's loss at Birmingham, told Sky Sports' Goals on Sunday: "I think with the squad we have now and the new staff coming in it's set up nicely for the next few years.

"But we have to achieve. It's okay winning the Carling Cup but we need to push on now.

"We have still got a lot to play for this season. Saturday was disappointing but we have still got the UEFA Cup.

"We had a great relationship with Martin Jol - we don't forget the job he did.

"But the new manager has come in and given us a lot of belief. Regardless of whether we're playing a top team he wants us to go out and win and hopefully you can see that in the performances.

"He is focused on winning all the time. Every manager has that but I think he has it down to a tee. His man-management is unbelievable."

Spurs have had a difficult season in the league and seem destined for a mid-table finish but Keane insists Ramos will not be easing up to concentrate on the UEFA Cup.

The 27-year-old said: "We had a meeting to say the Carling Cup was gone, we have to focus on the league and the UEFA Cup now.

"He said, 'You're all playing for your future, for next season'. That keeps us all on our toes.

"Obviously it didn't work on Saturday but the lads know where they stand."
