The 19-year-old Mexico international, who signed from Barcelona on June 10, revealed he was motivated by the challenge of playing in the Premier League and was keen to see more first-team action than he did during his time in Spain.

"The people here (at Tottenham) have been very welcoming," Dos Santos told Barcelona's official website. "It is a club with a lot of history and the passion that surrounds football in England has always caught my eye. It's highly motivating.

"For me, it's a new challenge. I've come to England to make the best of all my qualities.

"I've come here from a big club, I want to play plenty of minutes and give the fans plenty of joy. It'll be good to grow as a player."
