Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is reviving his interest for Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.

The People says Ferguson is a long-time admirer of Defoe, who has dropped down to fourth choice behind Robbie Keane, Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent.

Defoe has only 18 months left on his contract and neither the player nor the club are prepared to talk about a new deal.
