Tottenham winger David Bentley admits his new Rostov teammates love taking the mickey over his lack of Russian.
Harry Redknapp used to joke at Tottenham that during their training sessions at Chigwell players would knock crosses towards Roman Pavlyuchenko and the Russian striker's interpreter would be there jumping for it as well.
Bentley admits his new team-mates enjoy giving him a similar ribbing.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "I have got someone who is with me a lot of the time and the boys give me a bit a stick, but he's all right.
"The manager speaks slight English, so it's just for meeting times and things like that really.
"Obviously, I do struggle with the language but it's pretty much fine.
"My team-mates give me some stick - they say we English only stick to our island and don't go anywhere else or speak any other languages.
"I'm learning Russian, I'm trying to learn the hellos, goodbyes, the greeting words really and you can pretty much get by on that. It's just a case of having respect."
