Tottenham are maintaining a watching brief on Lyon playmaker Miralem Pjanic.
The Daily Mail says despite reports of a £12m move to England, new Lyon coach Remi Garde says that he has no intention of allowing Pjanic to depart.
Lazio have shown strong interest also but the French paid Metz £7m for him so even if they did encourage offers for the 21-year-old they would want a substantial profit.
Much will depend what happens with Luka Modric this week. While manager Harry Redknapp and coach Kevin Bond acknowledge there is a value that could be hit for the Croatian, chairman Daniel Levy is still keen to stick to his guns and rebuff Chelsea.
