Tottenham have opened talks with France U20 defender Damien Dussaut.
L'Equipe says the Valenciennes youngster is on the brink of signing for Spurs, with negotiations already at an advanced stage.
Valenciennes won't block Dussaut from moving on as they seek to restructure their finances following relegation.
Financial problems is expected to see the French club demoted to the nation's Fourth Division.
