Tottenham have made an opening bid for Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.
The Daily Star says Spurs have made a £17m bid for Spain striker Soldado.
The 28-year-old Valencia star is under contract until 2017 and has a release clause of £26m.
But Spurs are confident they can get him for less as the Spanish club have financial problems.
