Tottenham striker Pavlyuchenko: 2009 has been catastrophic for me

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has branded his 2009 as "catastrophic".

The Russian striker, signed for £14million by Juande Ramos last year, has endured a terrible season, having played just four games for Harry Redknapp, scoring one goal, and having been part of the Russia team knocked out of the World Cup by Slovenia.

"I have never had such a black period in my life," said Pavlyuchenko. "Russia's failure was a continuation of a catastrophic 2009. I only sit on the bench for my club and now it did not work for the national team, either.

"I can only hope that January will bring changes in my life. Naturally, I mean moving clubs. My agents are coming to London this week to negotiate it."
