Tottenham set price for Steven Bergwijn as Ajax 'working on it'

Tottenham have set their price for Steven Bergwijn.

Bergwijn could be on the move for a fee of £26million this summer, with Ajax reportedly 'working on' a deal for the Dutch international over the last six months.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports Spurs are open to the player leaving the club, but will want to recoup as much of the £27m that they paid PSV Eindhoven for him in 2020.

Ajax are thought to be keen admirers of the 24-year-old, and have reportedly been working on a deal since January but their most recent offer of £17m has been rejected in the week Bergwijn has made his intentions to leave Spurs clear.

Romano stated: "Tottenham want around €30m to let Steven Bergwijn leave this summer. Ajax are working on it with an official proposal, still waiting to reach an agreement with Spurs.

"There are many clubs interested in Bergwijn - but Ajax are on it since January."
