Tottenham have been hit with the news that Tom Huddlestone will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
The talented 25-year old midfielder underwent ankle surgery last week and will now focus on rehabilitation ahead of a big pre-season with Spurs.
Huddlestone has been out of action since last August after sustaining ligament damage and will not be available for the North London club until the start of the 2012/13 season.
Huddlestone confirmed the news on his Twitter page whilst thanking everybody involved for their support.
"Thanks for msgs! My season is over b4 its even started, operation Friday!! Main objective is to make sure I'm 100% for pre season ?"
He added: "thanks for the msgs!! tough times but part and parcel of the job i guess!!"
