Tottenham's Dempsey keen to keep USA ball rolling

Tottenham new boy Clint Dempsey is determined to help continue the good recent form of the USA national team.

Jurgen Klinsmann's men have produced some firsts for the US recently with wins over Italy in Italy and Mexico in Mexico and are now looking to defeat Jamaica in Kingston for the first time.

Dempsey and his US teammates are preparing for the 2014 CONCACAF World Cup qualifier on Friday and the new Spurs attacking midfielder is delighted to be back in the international fold after an uncertain summer at club level.

"It was good. It was good to get back into the team, with the guys, and good for me to get back into training," he told ussoccer.com.

"I've been training with a trainer, but it's good for me to get back in playing with teammates.

"Everybody is excited and looking forward to continuing this run of doing things that are special - the first time winning in Italy, first time winning against Mexico and if we beat Jamaica it will be the first time there doing that.

"We're just trying to keep doing things that are special and try to qualify for the World Cup because that's the main goal."
