Jermain Defoe will miss England's friendly meeting with Brazil after injuring an ankle for Tottenham today.
The Spurs striker badly rolled his ankle late in the first half of the 1-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion and will now be sidelined when the Three Lions take on the Brazilians on Wednesday plus another two to three weeks.
"He rolled his ankle. He will have to have a scan to reveal the extent of the injury," said Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas.
"Hopefully there is not a lot of ligament damage. If there is, he could be out for two to three weeks. Has he been withdrawn from the England squad? Yes he has."
