Jermain Defoe says getting regular game time with the England team is helping his confidence.
The Tottenham striker has started both 2014 World Cup qualifying matches so far as well as the friendly with Italy in August and is impressing in a lone attacking role.
Defoe, who was mainly used off the bench at club level last season, is simply thrilled to be contributing to the qualification chances of his national team.
"It's always nice when you get to play, helps your confidence. I'm playing with good players. It makes it a lot easier," he said.
"And even if I'm playing that lone role up front on my own, it's not a problem. The lads get close to me, service is good, and it's something I'm enjoying."
