Tottenham’s Bale on FIFPro World XI 2010 shortlist

Gareth Bale has been named on the 55-man shortlist for the FIFPro World XI 2010.

The 50,000 professional footballers belonging to the players' unions from across the world were asked to nominate their top four defenders, three midfielders, three forwards and a goalkeeper for 2010.

Liga has the most nominees with 18, while the English Premier League has 17, Italy's Serie has 15, four come from the German Bundesliga and one from France's Ligue 1.

The final World XI will be announced at the Fifa Ballon d'Or gala in Zurich on 10th January.

y there is no ivanovic? he is the best for all the chelsea's win last season

Busquets wins the world cup and his backup makes the list. Kaka hasn't played since he lost to Netherlands, interesting. Got to wonder how much people voted on their reputation instead of performance.

Messi and Cronaldo(as much as i don't like him) are undisputed, yes. but then so are Xavi and Iniesta. They did finish above Cronaldo in the Ballon d'Or rankings. Silly to do that, apparently Xavi is going to win?, and not make the Fifa 11.

as for the goal keepers. are Cech and Van der Sar still great? haven't seen them play much lately, but i've heard they are going downhill
