Tottenham reject Pekhart takes aim at England U21 stars

Former Tottenham striker Tomas Pekhart has slammed England U21's stars.

Pekhart scored the Czech's injury time winner on Sunday and the forward last night submitted a damning verdict on England's next generation of stars.

Having spent two years at Tottenham before returning to the Czech Republic with Baudit Jablonec in 2010, Pekhart has first hand experience of the English game.

And the 22-year-old has accused England's next crop of senior internationals of being too big time.

He said: "Generally with England teams there are a lot of stars in the side and sometimes they cannot play like a team.

"Everyone there wants to beat players and show something special. There are so many stars, so everyone just wants to be a star.

"They want to do tricks and shine. I was at Tottenham and I know there is a lot of pressure on the English players. Maybe they cannot cope. I don't know.

"But it is different for us (Czechs). We don't have too many stars and as a result we play compact like a team together."
