Tottenham players pay tribute to retired King

Tottenham players today paid tribute to Ledley King following the injury-prone defenders retirement from the game.

The 31-year old has prematurely called time on his career because of chronic knee injuries and has received plenty of will-wishes from Spurs teammates on Twitter.

"Ledley King is retired what a sad news!he will always be a spurs legend and amazing defender! #KING," wrote central defensive partner Sebastien Bassong.

Midfielder Tom Huddlestone added: "Sad to hear The King has had to retire, amazing player, who made the game look very easy to play! Will be missed on and off the pitch."

Whilst winger Aaron Lennon pitched in with: "Gutted the #KING has had to retire, the best defender I've ever played with or against, will be missed greatly!!! Legend #retiretheshirt26."
