Tottenham are being linked with Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.

The Dutchman spent an injury-plagued campaign on-loan in Germany with Schalke last season. The Bundesliga club have decided against taking up the option to sign him outright.

Afellay still has two years to run on his existing deal and Barca are now circulating his name across Europe.

Spurs have been contacted and Calciomercato.com says the Londoners are considering a move for the midfielder.
