Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks has undergone surgery on his ankle.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who was recently rewarded with a new five-year contract, last featured for Spurs in February.

To ensure he's ready to go for the start of next season, Winks has gone under the knife to repair an issue that scuppered his chances of making England's World Cup squad.

Winks made his international debut against Lithuania last October.
