Tottenham, Man City rival Everton for Benfica star Cardozo

Tottenham are interested in Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.

The Daily Mail says Manchester City, Everton and Sunderland have also tracked the Paraguay international to the Premier League after Cardozo signalled he wanted to quit the Portuguese giants in the summer.

The 26-year-old scored 36 goals in 42 games last season including two against Everton and three against Liverpool in the Europa League - a feat which didn't go unnoticed by Toffees boss David Moyes.

But the Scotsman now faces competition from Harry Redknapp, who is keen to bolster his attacking options after Spurs finished fourth and qualified for the Champions League.

True to form this summer, City have also been linked with a move for Cardozo but the lure of Champions League football might prove too good to turn down for the star striker, who is set to star in the World Cup for Paraguay this summer.

Cardozo has a £34million release clause at Benfica.
