Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles is convinced Gareth Bale is on his way to greatness.

Ardiles feels Bale can match the feats of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He is just wonderful and now even his free-kicks are absolutely wonderful. He's very close [to the world's best]," the Argentine told talkSPORT.

"He is improving - every game he is getting better and better and better. He won't like the comparison but he's becoming the new Ronaldo."
