Tottenham hoping to complete deal for Man City's Adebayor

Recent reports suggest that Tottenham are keen to finalise a loan deal for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor this week. The 27-year old Togo international has been on his way out of Eastlands for the entire summer but as of yet, no deal has been struck with any interested clubs which includes French outfit Marseille.

But it is believed that Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is looking to bring him into their squad so he can make his debut against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

City are likely to pay half of Adebayor's £160,000-a-week wages during his stay at White Hart Lane with the North Londoners getting the chance to buy him permanently at the end of the season for around £12million.

The former Arsenal star is unlikely to be named in Roberto Mancini's 25-manPremier League squad this season and is deemed surplus to requirements at Etihad Stadium.
