Tottenham fullback Adam Smith hopes to start for England tonight against Italy U21 in their Euros opener.
Smith is excited about the challenge.
"It's nice to be named in the squad and now I want to play my way into the starting 11. I'm still on a learning curve, still learning my trade. I played 29 games, 25 in the Championship, so that's a good season," Smith told tottenhamhotspur.com.
"Recently I've played some good football with the Under-21s. I've showed the manager what I can do so hopefully I'll train well and get a chance in the tournament.
"The game against Israel sold out in no time, so that will be a great experience."
