Tottenham fullback Kieran Trippier: England debut for Mum and Dad

Tottenham fullback Kieran Trippier has dedicated his England debut to his family.

Trippier has admitted that he was thinking of his parents, who were in the crowd, during his international debut as England lost 3-2 to France in Paris.

As he was preparing to take to the field at the Stade de France, mum Elanor and dad Chris were at the forefront of his thoughts.

"It was an amazing feeling being in the tunnel thinking I was about to make my debut," he told his club website.

"I knew my parents were in the crowd and I was just thinking of them, because they have done so much for me to get where I am now.

"As soon as I saw my shirt, knowing I was starting, the feeling was amazing. I was buzzing and so proud to wear it and to sing the national anthem with my team-mates. The whole experience was unbelievable.

"It's always an honour to play for your country and hopefully there will be many more."
