Tottenham full-back Rose denies being jealous of Walker

Danny Rose insists he isn't jealous of ex-Tottenham teammate Kyle Walker.

The left-back watched as his partner on the other flank departed Spurs for Manchester City in the summer, and has since all but cemented his chances on winning silverware as well as doubling his wages.

Rose famously criticised Tottenham in a national newspaper and a move to Manchester United was seemingly on the cards.

But nothing eventuated and Rose has had to settle for working his way back into Mauricio Pochettino's side after a niggling knee injury caused him to miss several games.

Talking before he faces off against his mate this weekend, Rose said: "There's no envy. Kyle fully merited his move and he's got what he deserves.

"Over the last two to three years he has been the best right-back in the League. His assists and performances prove that.

"So I wish him the best of luck in every game he plays, apart from when he's playing against us.

"Of course it will be nice to see him again if I'm selected on Saturday, but there will be no pleasantries between us until after the game. He's the enemy this weekend."
