Tottenham Hotspur are confident of landing Ross Barkley from Everton this summer.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Spurs have 'hardened their interest' in the 23-year-old midfielder who is back in the England squad for this week's matches with Germany and Lithuania.
The Toffees are eager for Barkley to extend his stay at Goodison Park but Spurs feel they may be able to lure him to White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino and his scouts have been watching Barkley for some time but there were previous doubts relating to his ball use and decision making.
However, Pochettino is of the belief that Barkley has improved markedly under the management of Ronald Koeman and feel he would now be able to operate in midfield alongside playmaker Dele Alli.
