Tottenham have opened talks with Sevilla for Alvaro Negredo.

The Daily Mail says Tottenham are in talks over a £15million swoop for Negredo.

The Spanish club's president Jose Maria del Nido flew into London, via Madrid, on Thursday to discuss a potential deal for the Spain forward with Spurs officials.

Sevilla have publicly denied the purpose of Del Nido's trip to England was to thrash out a deal for Negredo.

But privately, the La Liga club acknowledge the 27-year-old is likely to leave this month as they look to secure a significant cash injection from his sale.
