Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose has revealed how teammate Erik Lamela looked at him with disgust when he asked if the team were capable of finishing top four this season.
Rose, who scored the winner against Swansea City on Sunday, recalled a time recently when he was out to dinner with the Argentine who then gave him a dirty look when he asked his thoughts on what could become of the season for Spurs.
"Before the Man City game (which ended 2-1 to Tottenham on February 14) I was having dinner with Lamela and I was still asking him if he reckoned we can finish top four," said Rose.
"I've never seen someone look at me with such disgust.
"He said: 'My friend, we can win the league.' I realise the position we are in but I don't want to get too carried away.
"Games like the one Leicester had with scoring in the last minute, you never know, it could be a pivotal moment for them."
