Tottenham defender Steven Caulker admits he rejected an offer from Chelsea as a teen.
Had things turned out differently the 20-year-old could have been lining up for Chelsea today.
He revealed: "When I was 13 I had a trial at Chelsea. I was a centre midfielder back then. I thought I did all right. But a couple of weeks later I got a letter from them saying I hadn't made it. I was so disappointed.
"But that helped fuel my career in many ways. It taught me what rejection felt like and made me even more determined to succeed.
"A couple of years later the coach of my Sunday side moved me to centre-half and after one game Spurs gave me a trial.
"I signed for them the following week just before my 16th birthday and have never looked back."
