Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has called for Belgium coach Roberto Martinez to be kept on beyond this summer's Euros.
Alderweireld says the former Everton manager represents one of the best decisions made by the Belgian FA in recent times.
He declared, “I am sure that the national team will be fine for a long time, at least I hope he will stay. I think Martínez has been one of the best choices of the football association.
“Most of us play in the Premier League. He knows what the Premier League requires. If you then choose the right moments to work hard, to take moments off for the family and to get a certain rest, that is enormously important.
“So it is sometimes pleasant to find the right balance between training and some family moments. This group has of course also grown up. We don't do crazy things when we get moments off. That is a collaboration between us and the national coach.
“He has a clear picture of how we want to play football. Offensive football. He is also a football freak, he knows how to convey it very well to us. He is a trainer that you want to work for. I think everyone hopes that he will stay after the European Championship."
