Tottenham could open new stadium against Arsenal

Tottenham could open their new stadium with a derby blockbuster against Arsenal.

The Times says Tottenham have been warned there are 'continuing issues with the site' meaning they won't be able to move in until as late as March.

Contractors working on the project are said to have eyed up two different opening dates -January 13 (the Premier League game against Manchester United) or March 2 (against Arsenal).

It's claimed the latter date is now the most realistic one.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, no doubt frustrated at the lengthy delays, has been critical of a number of the contractors involved.

Tottenham have already reached an agreement with the FA to stay at Wembley for the rest of the season - although there are of course hopes that this won't have to be happen.
