Tottenham coach Poyet: Tougher at Leeds

Gus Poyet is confident of success at Tottenham after what he experienced as assistant manager at Leeds with Dennis Wise.

He said: "There is a big difference. The key here is that I am helping Juande and the club to change the situation. At Leeds, it was a call from a very good friend, Ken Bates, for Dennis and me to turn a club around that was going down. It was very difficult.

"There were so many problems. I don't think I will ever experience as bad a situation for the rest of my coaching career. At Tottenham, there are rumours, but there are no big issues at the club. It is just about getting training right and turning results around.

"I lost count of the things that went wrong at Leeds and just couldn't believe it. The fans didn't want us there because of the rivalry with Chelsea.

"But we turned it around and the toughest thing Dennis and I had to do with the supporters in the end was keep them calm because they are confident the club will get promoted this season."
