Tottenham coach Conte provides update on Son, Romero

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has provided an update on the fitness of Heung-Min Son and Christian Romero.

Son has been experiencing a muscular issue, while Romero is still not involved in full training.

However, Conte was optimistic about the outlook for both players when he spoke with reporters.

He said on Son: "The update on Sonny is that for sure we have to wait until after the international break.

"It was a muscular problem and I repeat it was strange because he came off during the game with no problem.

"Then the day after he felt a bit of pain and he was injured. It's a pity because you know very well the importance of this player for us."

He added on Romero: "We are talking about another player that's very close to coming back. Today Cristian had a little part of a training session with us.

"He's very close, very close to coming back. We're talking about anther important player for us.

"We lost him for almost two months and I think we faced this situation in the best possible way because Cristian for sure is an important player for us.

"Despite this, the players who played and showed to be good and they improved. For example, Sanchez is improving a lot. Now, Cristian is very close to coming back and being available."
