Tottenham boss Postecoglou explains Champions League attitude

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was asked if Champions League qualification would hasten his team's rise.

Postecoglou was hired in the summer with the remit of improving the squad, style of play, and results.

Spurs are battling for fourth spot with Aston Villa, while the fans have enjoyed his high octane style all season.

He told reporters this week: “Look, I think I said last week, that just depends how you utilise that opportunity.

“Just getting to the Champions League or just being a participant doesn't guarantee anything, bar a few games some good opposition. It's about using that opportunity for growth.

“But I doubt our off-season plans in terms of strengthening the team will change markedly from where we are now. We know what we need.

“We know the areas we need to strengthen, we know the kind of players and profiles we need. And that won't change, irrespective of how the season finishes for us, because for us it's about growth. It's not about just having one target — and those plans are well in place."
