Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is planning a double raid on former club Southampton.
The London Evening Standard says new manager Pochettino is closing in on his first acquisition of the summer with a £10million deal for Swansea left-back Ben Davies and now wants two of his former players.
Pochettino joined Spurs from Southampton in May after 16 months at St Mary's Stadium, where he formed a close bond with Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez.
Both players are keen to leave St Mary's having seen their coach depart along with key players Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert (both Liverpool).
Saints have offered Rodriguez a five-year contract in the hope he will stay. The 24-year-old is still sidelined with the knee ligament injury he sustained against Manchester City in April, which ruled him out of England's World Cup squad.
He was expected to be out for six months but that has not stopped Pochettino from lining up an offer and Rodriguez is considering ignoring Southampton's contract offer.
