Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is pleased for Santiago Solari after he was confirmed as fulltime Real Madrid coach.

Pochettino is happy to see his former Argentina teammate given the job and spoke of his desire for the former Castilla coach to do well.

"There's nothing to worry about," he said of Solari's appointment, speaking at an event organised by the Catalan FA.

"I know him and I have a very good relationship with him from our time in the national team.

"I wish him all the best and I wish him a lot of success.

"There are questions because of the rumours linking me and Real Madrid.

"Things will always be misunderstood no matter what is said.

"I am happy for him and I hope he can have a brilliant career."
