Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez rejected their request to stay at the Valdebebas training complex.

Pochettino admits he wanted his squad to stay at Real's training HQ, but was turned down by Florentino.

He told El Partidazo: "We trained in Valdebebas but we did not sleep there. We asked, but Florentino did not allow us.

"He told me: 'If you want to coach Madrid, you can sleep there ...'.

"Train Real? I have no more goals than to train Tottenham, I do not dare to dream in the long run. Football will put you where you deserve."
