Tottenham boss Mourinho feels for Alli: I feel sad every time I can't select him

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho insists Dele Alli will see plenty of action this season.

Mourinho has admitted he has sympathy for Alli after the out-of-sorts Tottenham star was left out of his squad for Monday night's victory at Burnley.

Speaking after the 1-0 victory at Burnley, Mourinho said: "I feel very bad we did (leave out Alli). I feel even sad every time I have to write a list of players selected for a game. It's not just about Dele.

"If the players understand that on Thursday we have another match and that some people that didn't play here, they are going to play on Thursday and vice-versa.

"This is the life of a big club. This is the life that I know from my time at Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea. The boys have to be ready."
