Tottenham boss Conte praises Levy for keeping Kane

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte praised chairman Daniel Levy for keeping hold of Harry Kane over the summer.

Kane had expressed a desire to leave and Manchester City were reportedly very interested, but in the end Tottenham chose to reject all offers and keep the England captain.

"This summer I followed the situation with Harry and saw what happened and could have happened. The club decided to keep Harry on the team and I think it was a great choice by the owner," he said.

"In this way, you show that you will try to continue to build something important around one of the best players on the team.

"I followed the situation, but now is not the time to look at the past. Now we have to live in the present, which says that Harry plays for Tottenham and continues to be one of the best players on this team.

"He will give 100 percent in every match and I am totally satisfied with his commitment and the relationship we have created on the team. He is a reference point in the locker room and an experienced player. I am totally enthusiastic about his involvement on the team and in the Tottenham project."
